Jakarta – Megain Widjaja, Chief Executive Officer of Indonesia Clearing House (ICH), received the Top Green Leaders Award 2024 organized by Warta Ekonomi on July 30, 2024, in Jakarta. The event, themed "Green Orientation and Sustainability Initiatives with Progressive Movement," presented a special award to Megain Widjaja as Indonesia Green Leader for Green Orientation in Developing Clean Metal Initiatives in the category of Self-regulatory Organization in Commodity Futures Trading.
Indonesia's Top Green Leaders Award 2024 is an award for company leaders in the field of sustainability and environment. This award aims to recognize the best corporate leaders who can lead positive change in environmental conservation and sustainability efforts. The assessment was conducted using three indicators: Green Vision & Mission, Green Action, and Green Commitment.
Megain Widjaja is recognized for his ability to lead Indonesia Clearing House, which is part of ICDX Group, in sustainability practices reflected through various strategic steps within the Sustainable Action or "Sustain-action" framework. These steps include ICDX Group's contribution to building the commodity futures trading industry, contributions to society, and a better world.
One of the Sustain-action practices recently implemented was socializing the "Clean Metals Initiatives" to tin business operators or smelters and ICDX exchange members. This aims to achieve "green metals" and support environmental impact mitigation, including the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or decarbonization. In addition, through the #GoNeutralCarbon campaign, ICDX has planted 34,000 mangrove trees in the Munjang Mangrove area, Bangka Belitung.
